Content developers vs writers

Regardless of what you exactly do in the field of creating or producing information, you spend time developing content. For most of us, that means writing but some of you do screen videos, or make illustrations. I’ve come to realize in the last 2 or so years, we need to stop calling this writing, or [...]

How your content is a business asset

For most companies, the content they create is critical to the running of the business. Consider for a moment: Policies and procedures – state how the business is to be run, who does what and how. In industries with oversight, such as finance or medical, the business also must show auditors how the company has [...]

Mindtouch announces the 400 top

influential tech comm/content strategists and I placed at 18 out of 400! I’m excited and honored by the recognition. The list is impressive. If you don’t have a social media plan, it’s 1994 all over for you

Social Media

Social media is a way for your company to reach out to customers, whether you’re a local yarn shop, restaurant, or a large multinational organization.

Your customers want you to hear what they have to say. And they want to have a conversation with you, so you can tell them you’re listening.

Additionally, your company knows a lot about what it does. You send out press releases and white papers to get attention about those wonderful things you’re doing.

Most of that goes in the trash. Don’t believe me? Check the number of downloads for your white papers. Probably not what you expected. All that effort went into creating this information them and no one is reading it. Maybe no one knows it exists.

How do you leverage social media?

You need a plan. You need defined goals and objectives with measurable results. You need someone to set you up with the tools to go social and then measure what’s working.

You need the experience of someone who’s done this before so your staff doesn’t waste time making the basic mistakes.

That’s what I can help you do. I can help you create the plan, identify the proper tools, and get you started.

I can also run your social media for you, if you don’t want to do it in house. It’s up to you.

But your customers are waiting to be engaged.
